Designed to compete with $0.30 to $0.50 per hour, ten hour days, and 6 days per week. Designed to replace $2,000,000.00 Surface Mount Technology Printed Circuit Board assembly lines for thirty times, (30) times less dollars each. Designed to replace $400,000.00 Machine Centers for ten times (10) times less dollars each. If you, or a small group, can afford a mid sized car, you can afford one of our manufacturing systems. 24 hour constant duty cycle and professional quality output. Biological human monitoring and support staged for a possible duty cycle of days.
Electronic SMT components are now very small, no manual assembly is economically practical. With any reasonable volume per month, multiple machines that cost around $100,000.00 each are put together in a typical $2,000,000.00 assembly line. The problem begins with a true and practical throughput performance limitation, just so many circuit boards per 24 hours can be assembled. Multiple $2,000,000.00 assembly lines become necessary. Most investors do not want to discuss one assembly line, and the five lines required are like pulling the pin on an ejection seat! We are immediately directed to Tijuana and other exotic locations where multiple $2,000,000.00 assembly lines are magically available for little or no cost. Somebody, somewhere else can always provide a better price / performance than United States of America Manufacturing. This is a simple lie! This is our machines against their machines, very little labor involved. Some companies in exotic locations are spending over $10,000,000.00 per month in added capacity. Larger volumes mask the true cost per board that become very evident in lower volume productions. Priority, access, lead times, and problematic quality are inherent with other companies assembly lines. Somebody, somewhere has to pay for all these machines. Your customer ends up paying for their machines that they then use to create a lower cost competing product against you.
Little Bird home perimeter security system is the Cardinal Robotics primary product. Custom computer architecture, hardware and software, not involving Personal Computer technology. Most people create Intellectual Property and install that into existing Personal Computer technology, and or have the hardware manufactured in exotic foreign lands. Reverse engineering and contract violations are two of many, many reasons why we are United States of America Manufacturing in the United States of America. The tens and hundreds of millions of dollars necessary to begin conventional manufacturing in the U.S.A., was also required in the exotic foreign locations it now exist. A two million dollar assembly line is two million dollars anywhere. The excuse of cheap labor was used to create these massive juggernauts in their exotic foreign lands. Prisoners stripping wire with their teeth for Christmas lights is not wise!
Bringing Electronic Consumer Products back to the United States of America requires a Mechanical Advantage.
A simplified two million dollar assembly line, necessary for constant duty industrial quality, includes these machines:
1. Printed Circuit Board Loader (PCB)
2. Solder Paste Printer
3. PCB Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to check for correct amount of solder in every location (1,000s per board)
4. Pick and Place machine (component reels and trays) pick components from packaging and place onto PCB
5. Pick and Place machine (component reels and trays) pick components from packaging and place onto PCB
6. Pick and Place machine (component reels and trays) pick components from packaging and place onto PCB
7. PCB Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to check for correct component location (1,000s per board)
8. Re flow Oven (entire PCB heated with all solder paste locations melting at once)
9. PCB Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to check for correct solder joint integrity in every location (1,000s per board)
10. Stacker for finished PCB
The pick and place machine is by far the most difficult, complex, and expensive single machine in the assembly line. A typical profile of one pick and place machine created from existing manufactures can be morphed into the following test target.
MORPHED PICK AND PLACE MACHINE TEST TARGET (each):
1. 48,000 Components Per Hour (CPH)
2. Dual Heads

Heavy castings of U.S.A. steel, large dimensions, and low precision fits. No Trans-Global shipping fees for heavy stock supplies.
Little Bird home perimeter security system, designed to convert uncontrolled environments into controlled environments. Designed to intercept and dynamically confront threats with Machine Intelligence. Designed to be a self contained autonomous embodiment of the larger entity, while maintaining local information security by featuring no necessary communication with any central real-time monitoring service.
A data base of unique signatures generated by the sensor stations including video and audio are compiled into three dimensional numerical models of the environment. A proprietary pattern analysis and signature modeling computer architecture, that is not compatible with Microsoft software using Intel computer architecture, is required. The signatures created are unique to the industry and world.
Over time, the data base will normalize to the patterns of movement and people allowed by the owner. Alerts can be signaled for specific cars, people, children, known or unknown. The owner will be able to determine all political hierarchy of what and who are allowed. Unknowns the owner can not solve are defined by the computer architecture and stored on a special DVD. Unique solutions to problems solved by the Machine Intelligence are also stored. The DVD is then mailed back to the factory where a special processor, created from a small percentage of profit from each installation exist. This special processor will solve the engineering unknowns and generate a custom design for every customer.
Strangers are intercepted after crossing perimeter boundary by voice saying Halt!, Who are you? The owner is notified if on premises, or schedule listed contacts such as neighbors, internet, cell phone or other remote communication possibilities then behave like a speaker phone. The owner can then interrogate as to the nature of presence. If the stranger continues on without clearance, alarms are sounded, and the threat is escalated to the point of doors and windows automatically closing. Children or family would be allowed inside instantly without stranger present.
Sensor stations are located at strategic positions inside, outside, and perimeter. Defined by owner, engineering, installation physics, and politics, these sensors analyze video in the infrared painted night vision to full color day vision. Audio in the sub-sonic, sonic, and super-sonic range of frequency. The physical size of the sensors range from very small to hundreds of feet tall. One computer cabinet module is one by two by four feet. The large size is a function of low cost, and allows expansion of power supplies and hard disk drives. Miniaturization is possible at great expense.
Current switch box home security systems are typically monitored real-time 24 hour's every day by a paid central service. Current technology has to be turned off when home is in use, only providing a panic button if necessary. Current technology does not provide active perimeter security even if a camera monitor system is installed. Current technology generates up to 98% false alarms. Current technology seems destined to continue on for decades more while waiting for Fiber To The Home or higher Internet performance.
Most current home security system R&D appears to be in video compression necessary to send over slow internet connections. Eventual Fiber To The Home promises to provide more than enough data bandwidth to send multiple camera signals with no compression back and forth to every home anywhere. We recently engaged a local Fiber Optic Cable company service and they installed an electronic box that we connected to. Eight hours later a lightning bolt vaporized the electronic box because of a 500 feet run of copper cable from the phone pole to our location. It may be more than 20 years away for true FTTH.
At current rate of progress in the year 2026 with true FTTH, home security system monitoring is still a monthly fee rate with 3 year minimum contracts. False alarms will be reduced dramatically but even with Moores Law the cost of remote central monitoring computer processing power is enormous, and that is reflected in the painful monthly monitoring fees. Privacy vaporized as you and your children's lives are transmitted anywhere on the planet. New forms of terrorism are being created every day with new remote fiber tapping technology. War may be reduced to elimination of G.P.S. satellites and killing central communications hubs that will disable autonomous delivery trucks supplying food across the country and every home security system connected through those hubs.
Little Bird is a true United States of America super computer architecture!!! It never was, is not, nor will ever be any part of any personal computer architecture. Personal computers are designed for use by human operators for human work and entertainment. Most video processing occurs with lossy video compression necessary for DVD movies and video streaming over the internet. The lossy compression systems are used in video and audio because the deception and illusion of fidelity and clarity are not noticed by the human. Little Bird super computer architecture is not deceived by all this deception and distortion of the truth!!! It will not tolerate the lies and compromise that is the basis of all personal computers.
It will probably never be possible to put a true super computer in the average home. We do not want to create networked super computer hubs to the home, even with FTTH. We can create super computer performance in the average home in the year 2007 with Little Bird. No privacy compromise is desired or necessary. No central monitoring is desired or necessary.
The WinTel personal computer architecture and market, is designed for a cookie cutter reality, where everybody receives the same experience and performance with the same or very similar hardware. This reduces the number of possible combinations of problems to a manageable number of solutions. Customized solutions usually involve the cookie cutter components with a software package designed for a specific location, running on top. The cookie cutter foundation and its limitations remain unchanged and unchangeable. The WinTel architecture is fixed and locked in. The instruction set for a given processor model will never change. The 32 or 64 bit architecture will never change for a given processor model. The entire personal computer market demands it.
Little Bird home perimeter security system architecture is not bounded by market limitations of compatibility and open system standards. Instead of 32 or 64 bit architectures, Little Bird works with 320, 640, 1280 or greater bit architectures. Little Bird can redefine its architecture 200 times per second with almost unlimited variation.
Little Bird is designed to be stationed in position for decades of operation. During this mission, the environment and normalization of operation will experience continuous change. From Day to Day, Month to Month, Season to Season, Year to Year and Decade to Decade, trees will grow, people will come and go. Little Bird will become a part of the scene.
The same changing architecture that allows decades of adaptation, can be used in mobile environments where decades of environmental change can occur in seconds.
Little Bird starts with 12 low cost infra-red to color CCTV cameras about $20.00 each. One high performance all weather perimeter camera station with directional 300 watt audio communications and 3 day battery back-up. Fiber optic communications to the cameras interior and exterior. Low voltage alarm cable will supply current. Three miniature command and control stations. One Little Bird module with all electronics, disk drives and DVD writer located in secure area with 3 day battery back-up.
Multiple high performance camera stations are easily achieved with multiple Little Bird modules. Ultra high performance camera stations can be achieved with 3 to 6 modules per station. Little Bird modules are designed to be connected in a crystal lattice configuration.
The Little Bird architecture with crystal lattice configuration is design capable for large industrial applications, chemical factories, nuclear power plants, water plant security, and large scale United States boarder security. A natural application with our high performance robotics includes missile defense for Israel. Digital image processing is easily converted to radar signal processing.
Average home security packages include some free hardware and installation offers. A monthly monitoring fee is calculated on number of doors, windows, sensors, zones, and area. It typically ranges from $35.00 to $50.00 and can include a 3 year minimum contract. The true cost of the free switch box is between $1,200 and $1,800 continuous every 3 years.
Little Bird is designed to be mass produced by robotic manufacturing and placed into a 6 color box located in K-Mart, Sears, and other electronic retail stores. Local security companies that now install switch boxes can be easily trained over the internet with tele conferencing for specific engineering assistance and tooling.
The cost of our robot manufacturing system is 10 to 30 times less than conventional robot manufacturing systems available in the year 2007. Going to China for manufacturing simply means using Chinese robot manufacturing systems that have paid foreign companies 10 to 30 times more than our robot manufacturing systems. This not only means we can manufacture up to 30 times faster at the same dollar for dollar, but we can begin manufacturing at up to 30 times less cost at a one to one, dollar for dollar comparison. The end product will incur a 30 time cost reduction for assembly. This is what will make Little Bird practical, and possible in the year 2007.
